We have so many photos to add to this site, but here are the most recent ones. The October 08 album includes snaps of Adrien attending his first political fundraiser (it’s never too early to start!) and all of us at the Nairobi Marathon Family Fun Run… Adrien and his intrepid running partner, Emma, did amazingly well, and ran/walked most of the 4 km route on their own. We were all impressed. My favorite pic is the one of him pumping his arms at the finish line.

We're finally in a place with high-speed internet, so I've uploaded some photos from Yvonne's wedding and the December holidays. Enjoy!

Adrien has picked up some Vietnamese and can hail a taxi with authority now. It's quite funny.
His latest game is to "read" to us from his favorite books. Much to our amazement, one night he started reciting stories at bed time. His favorite is "Jack and the Beanstalk" although "The Gingerbread Man" runs a close second.
We are here during a special holiday season -- mid-autumn moon festival. In Vietnam, this holiday is focused on children, with lots of toys, sweets, and fun activities organized for kids for several weeks leading up to the actual holiday. Adrien has eaten his weight in moon cakes!

We're having a great time in Vietnam -- this weekend we took a cruise in stunning Halong Bay, which gave new meaning to the phrase "weekend get-away."

We have been quite delinquent in adding new photos. The latest album dates from March - April 2007 and includes our trips to the Ol Pejeta Ranch at Sweetwaters game reserve, Turtle Bay Beach Club and the Gedi ruins. More photos to come in the next few weeks!

Adrien joined a playgroup at the Montessori Centre recently. In British tradition, he has a school uniform -- check out the photos of him in his waistcoat! He's really enjoying it so far and loves his teachers and playmates. Everyday they have a different activity, including swimming, horse riding, dance, and music. Adrien comes home singing and humming most afternoons, and he will run straight for our ipod stereo, saying "dance, dance, dance!"

"Playground" snapshots are from a recent lunch with family friends Dorothy and Walter Sudweeks. Adrien loved having Walter as his playmate and partner in crime.

The latest album includes a few earlier photos from a trip to Malu with Auntie Alex (pre-hair cut), and a trip to Buck's house in Kilifi, on the northern coast of Kenya.

These days, Adrien is busy learning words and covering our balcony wall with chalk scribbles. His latest obsessions are door keys and the stereo. Early signs of a gadget-head?!Comments:Add a comment:

Last week we flew to Chennai to visit our friends Michele and Ziyad and their two daughters. Adrien loved being with Nadia and Zayna, and he adjusted to India's hot and busy lifestyle without much fuss. The day after we arrived, Adrien went for his first haircut at a barber's. He was very patient as we debated whether to just trim his hair or shave it all off. We decided on the latter, and Nadia quickly nicknamed him "Monk." As in, "I wanna sit next to the Monk" and "I love the Monk!" We had a great time! During our stay, we even took an overnight trip to Pondicherry, a former French colony, to reunite with Kathiresan, an old friend of Michael's from his Shansi days. Adrien ate croissants, gave alms to a grandmother beggar who blessed him, and felt otherwise as French in India as a Chinese-Korean-American Buddhist monk raised in Kenya could feel.

Lake Nakuru was lots of fun. Adrien loved looking for "Zaza!" (zebra) though he wasn't too impressed by the hundreds of flamingoes on the lake.
